July 1, 2025 – Last opportunity to modify TEÁOR codes

On January 1, 2025, TEÁOR’08 was replaced by TEÁOR’25, in alignment with the EU’s NACE Rev. 2.1 classification. The reason for the change is the transformation of economic activities in recent years. The new system includes 22 national economic sectors, compared to the previous 21, with a new structure and coding.

Based on the provided data, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) automatically assigned a main activity code to organizations with a tax number.

The reclassification of other activities proceeds as follows:

• If the old activity can be clearly matched to a new TEÁOR code, the tax authority will automatically update it.

• If the old activity can be divided into several new codes, the organization or entrepreneur must report the appropriate new code by July 1, 2025.

Those who do not make a declaration by July 1, 2025, accept the new codes. The TEÁOR’25 system and the related search and recoding tools are available on the KSH website.
