Portfolio Investment Day 2025

During the Portfolio Investment Day conference panel discussions, the invited leaders and experts touched on a number of exciting topics, including what to invest in (and what not to invest in) in the current uncertain economic environment, and how the Hungarian entrepreneurial sector is coping with the growing customs war.

Ilona Orbók, owner-manager of BDO Hungary, said that luxury companies are crisis-proof in the long term: downturns are usually followed by a quick bounce-back. Although the tariff war has rewritten this year's outlook, super-premium brands such as Hermès and Dior continue to perform solidly.
Also discussed were Prada's strategic move to acquire Versace, Hermès' exclusivity gimmicks (e.g. Birkin bag), and the secondary market value of waitlisted products. The discussion also touched on speculation around Ferrari, the investment potential of luxury products and the debate around the "Made in Europe" origin.
